Renault Twingo E-Tech Electric: the city car reinvented for the city

Renault unveils the new Renault Twingo E-Tech, a 100% electric car inspired by the iconic 1993 version. The prototype combines modern design with urban practicality. Compact and « mischievous », it promises unprecedented comfort for everyday journeys.

A compact, modern silhouette

Twingo Prototype retains the rounded lines of the first generation while adopting a fluid, contemporary style. The sloping bonnet and distinctive headlamp arches give the car a dynamic appearance. Round LED lights at the front and rear add to the vehicle’s charm and unique character. The emblematic rear window has been modernised, underlining the relationship with the old Twingo.

Innovative, modular interior

Inside, Renault is banking on cleverness and lightness. The cylindrical, suspended dashboard combines retro-futuristic design with practicality. The sliding rear bench seat, which can be folded 50/50, offers optimum flexibility for transporting passengers or bulky objects. Ingenious storage spaces under the dashboard and in the headrests make everyday life easier.

Twingo Prototype’s seats feature colour patterns that subtly echo the exterior body colour. Every detail, from the backrest adjustment to the seat lever, adds originality and practicality. The interior is punctuated by playful and creative touches that recall the spirit of the first advertising slogans.

Panoramic roof and natural light

The generous glass roof illuminates the interior, giving it an unusually spacious feel for a city car. The natural light enhances the spaciousness and design of the interior, while making the cabin even more user-friendly.

The future Twingo E-Tech Electric will be offered at an attractive price of less than €20,000, excluding the environmental bonus. It is positioned as a competitive urban alternative to models such as the Citroën ë-C3 and the Dacia Spring. Its power and battery are still confidential, but the vehicle promises a range of around 250 km in the WLTP cycle, enough for everyday city use.

Renault is offering a special programme called Twingo R Pass. Privileged customers will be able to order the car before the general public and benefit from priority delivery. Already open in Italy, France will have to wait a little longer for this privilege, on 22 October. The official launch and full presentation of the model are scheduled for 6 November 2025.

Compact, modular and electrified, the Twingo Prototype reaffirms Renault’s urban expertise. It combines historical heritage and modernity, offering a city car designed for everyday use. Its launch marks a new stage in the electric transition accessible to all.
